My weekend

Story and pictures and nerdery behind the cut.

So I set off super early Saturday morning and eventually got to Kings Cross. And the first thing I saw was this:

Picture taken on the way back as there wasn't time on the way there. I had no idea it was so ornate! I think I came in my pants when I saw it - amazing that I actually have a boyfriend :P

The area all around there is I think where there used to be all derelct shit and junkies and hookers and everything but it's all being redeveloped. As any fule kno, all social problems dissapear if you stick up a few overpriced flats with naff cladding...

Anyway, then it was tube to Waterloo (long way round as the Vicky line was closed for work)

Random bit of Waterloo. I had my frst ever Krispy Kreme dohnut and it was wonderful! I only know them through people in America talking about them. It was a strawberries and cream one:)

To get my train into Surrey, and got the hots all over again when I saw this:

I'm an Inustrial Slut, clearly. I think the people on the seat in front thought I was mad, they're probably commuters and see it all the time.

Industrial shit

Surbiton station buffet, didn't get the station itself but it's awesome!

I got off at Webridge and was met by my uncle, then we went to pick up my dad and brother at Virgina Water, home of the Royal Holloway Sanatorium, a famous and ornate former mental hospital!

I didn't get many pics as it's one of those gated communities with Security Gaurds and Lazers and Attack Dogs to keep the riff-raff out, so I had to sneak some through the back.

The video for Total Eclipse of the Heart was filmed there. I knew I made this lame-o icon for a reason, however I can't find either the video or the quote from Bonnie about how creepy the place was so that buggers that up. Oh well, moving swftly on...

I found this animal skull and was going to take it home but my uncle got funny about having it in the car :P

Group photo! My brother is next to me

Uncle Chris, who's a musician, played some songs and we all sang along. That was my fave part! We did Wild Rover and You'll Never Walk Alone among other things!

Photobucket
With my dad and my cousin - Laurel, Hardy and Indiana Jones :)

Then I went to bed and slept like a log!

Photobucket
Twat!

I said goodbye and was dropped at Weybridge station.

Bit scruffy considering it's quite posh!

The train into London was making scary noises and bumping around. I had to change at Vauxhall because of the tube issues

What followed was an hour or so of hell on earth where I panicked and swore to myself and generally saw London transport at it's Very Worst. Then I finally got to Kings Cross and had to walk through this maze of plasterboard where they're doing work, got lost then got on a train to Inverness by mistake. I got mine just in time and necked some cider. Glad I don't live in London tbh. I was so getting the Warm Fuzzies about being back in the East Midlands again!

Then I got home and to see Paul again and had some booze and listened to some music :) Fun weekend overall.
